Award shows should add money since we don’t get performance royalties – Edem fights
Rapper Edem who tells it as it is has said the Ghanaian artiste does not suffer a deficit when it comes to talent but rather, lack of finance to support their art and promote it onto the next level.
This comment by the artiste comes on the back of arguments as to why Ghanaian artistes were snubbed by CAF and its sponsors at the just ended CAF awards that saw Mohammed Salah win the coveted best player award.
He said in a tweet that “TALENT AND CREATIVITY HAS NEVER BIN THE GH ARTIST PROBLEM.. IT HAS ALWAY BIN FINANCE..”.
Edem called on Award schemes to include monetary gains as part of their prizes when they pick up awards in order to help better their work as artistes and also promote their arts across boundaries.
“SO AWARD SHOWS FOR ADD MONEY.. SINCE WE DON’T EVEN GET PERFORMANCE ROYALTIES…”.
