Ghana Premier League starts on March 2
The Ghana Football Association has announced the weekend of March 2nd and 3rd to start the 2017/2018 football season and its various leagues.
According to the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, the new Ghanaian Premier League season will be launched Monday, February 26.
The President at a consultative meeting held by the GFA at its secretariat in Accra Wednesday, said a ruling by the High Court in his outfit's favour in an interlocutory injunction suit by Accra Great Olympics has cleared them to proceed with their activities.
The GFA and its constituent bodies are currently debating whether to proceed immediately with its Congress Wednesday.
The GFA boss also announced that as part of efforts to support the development of football at the lower-tier level his outfit would absorb a portion of the officiating fees to be paid by all Division One League clubs.
He said the clubs will only pay GHC 3000 out of the total GHC28,800 officiating fee.
With the FA paying for the remaining 25,800 sum.
